Bill & Sandy Fifield Artist - Authors - Speakers

Home

The Studio is the creative outlet for my art, writing and teaching.   I founded The Studio in 1968 with my late husband, Bill, who passed away August 9, 2013. I make an effort to  carry Bill’s legacy forward in my many roles including artist, speaker, writer and spiritual teacher.

 As an Artist

My art is a reflection of my struggle and ultimately my redemption. Specializing in glass, I begin with materials that are raw and coarse and transform them into exquisite, graceful, emotional, and everlasting pieces. Years of perfecting my skill and a steadfast dedication to craftsmanship are evident in every creation. I have created hundreds of one-of-a-kind, one-at-a-time pieces, mainly as commissioned work.  As an Author

During the Sixties and Seventies Bill and I functioned in an environment of exciting artistic promise that slowly degenerated into negativity and fear fueled by addiction to drugs and alcohol.  This existence was so normal for us that we didn’t see the disaster we were heading for until others close to us intervened.  Fortunately, we were willing to accept help and do the work that moved us from a dark, destructive place to one of infinite possibility and a positive view of life.

We were moved to share what we learned creatively and spiritually in the book we wrote together, Dig Deep in One Place.  In “Dig Deep In One Place–A Couple’s Journey to a Spiritual Life”, we reveal our rediscovered passion for giving to others.  Our book, written in the format of a Twelve-Step Fellowship speaker meeting, is aimed to help anyone dealing with the effects of addiction (in any form).  Our book de-mystifies the Twelve-Step process and makes it available for anyone to follow and reap the benefits.  By sharing our own stories, we hoped to reveal a path to peace and fulfillment to anyone seeking a way out of despair and hopelessness.    (Click Here to Order)

As a Speaker

I speak to Twelve-Step groups, businesses and community groups sharing my incredible journey on this planet.  Since writing the book with Bill our life took a path completely unimagined by us.  Bill became ill with lung cancer and waged a battle that lasted nearly two years.   Since Bill’s death in 2013 I have added this new dimension to my experience.  I hope that my experience can resonate with anyone concerned about addiction, anyone seeking to resolve grief issues, or anyone just seeking to ignite that creative spark in whatever it is they are called to do.   Whether your addiction is to alcohol or drugs, exercise or procrastination, I can offer a path to break out of the fear that holds so many of us back and uncover the passion that is your true guiding force.  (Click here to learn more about speaking events)
